EAT WATERMELON FOR DESSERT
A study in the Journal of Nutrition suggests that the amino acid arginine found in watermelon can promote weight loss. The diets of obese mice were supplemented with arginine by the researchers for 3 months. It was found that doing so decreased the body fat gains by 64 percent. The presence of this amino acid in the diet can enhance the oxidation of fat and glucose and increase lean muscle, which burns more calories than fat does. During summer eat watermelon and in other seasons you can choose other sources of arginine like seafood, nuts and seeds.
